Video of Christopher singing

Here is a video of Christopher singing some songs. As you can see, he doesn't quite remember the words to them but makes it up as he goes along. So cute! He is also jumping around on the cushions from the couch (which he takes off and puts into piles to jump on), one of his favorite things to do. The video is kind of dark, which makes it hard to see him, but you can at least hear him. :) Enjoy!

Random video of Christopher

Here is a random video of Christopher. I thought it would be fun for people who haven't seen him in a really long time (and for people who have never met him). It's not the best sample of what he is really like, but it's the best I have on video. He likes to look at himself on the screen on the video camera, so many times I just get video of him making goofy faces and funny sounds. This video is from the middle of February. (Edited to add: I know it looks like a video of Jessica at first, but then it's just Christopher.)

WAHOO!!

I got the Boise internship! Yay!! What a relief! It's at the Warm Springs Counseling Center and Training Institute which is run by the Idaho Children's Home Society. The Children's Home Society is celebrating 100 years this summer and has been in the paper a lot the past week. I'll be working primarily with children and adolescents, but may have an occasional adult client too. I'll be doing assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy. The place is awesome and I'm so excited! The internship starts in August and will go for a full year.

I Matched!

Yay! I Matched!! That means that I definitely got an internship. What a relief! If I hadn't Matched I would have had to go through this whole application process again next year.

I won't know WHERE I matched until Monday. The only thing I know at this point is that it is one of the 6 sites that I ranked. So it's either Boise, Salt Lake City (there were 2 sites there), Spokane, Moscow Idaho, or Reno.

Rankings are submitted

I submitted my rankings for internships. Now I just have to wait. Match day is Feb. 22nd. That's the day I will find out IF I got an internship. If I matched, then I find out on Feb. 25th WHERE I matched. The waiting is going to be hard!

Now that I'm done with all the interview craziness I'll be able to get some stuff done again....like posting some pictures on the blog (which I'm started to do yesterday and will finish today) and responding to e-mails from people that I have gotten in the past couple weeks. It's also time for me to get back to work on my dissertation. I have to finish analyzing the data and then write it up.

Winter fun in McCall

We decided to take a trip up to my parent's cabin in McCall this past weekend. We had never been up there when there was a lot of snow. It has been snowing like crazy up there in the mountains lately, so we thought it would be fun. It was totally amazing how much snow there was!!

Here is a picture of Christopher walking through the path Matt shoveled so we could get to the front door. You can see how high the snow is!

The snow was slowly sliding off the roof. The heat from the house was making it melt. It was really cool looking, so I took a picture

There is a guy who comes to plow the driveway at the cabin so that you can actually park somewhere and get to the house. He piles the snow up in the backyard. I climbed up the HUGE pile. Christopher was busy trying to shovel snow. He loves to shovel snow!

Matt pulling Christopher in the sled

Christopher standing in another parking area that the snowplow makes. You can see how much snow surrounds the cabin. We really couldn't see much out the windows because the snow was so high

Christopher climbed up a pile of snow and was pretty proud of himself

Matt and Christopher built a snow tunnel. It was cool!

Christopher holding a big clump of snow. He was really amazed by all the snow and had a great time

Random pictures from January

I haven't posted pictures in a while, so here are some random pictures from the month of January.

Our Christmas cactus actually bloomed this year. It hadn't bloomed in forever. It was really pretty

A picture of Jessica smiling

Christopher and Jessica taking a nap in our bed. They looked so cute sleeping next to each other like that. I just HAD to take a picture.

Christopher trying to develop his photography skills.

Grandma & Grandpa's visit

Grandma and Grandpa Parks came to visit at the beginning of January. We had so much fun seeing them! It was sad when they had to go back to New York. Here are some pictures from their visit....

Here is Christopher looking at pictures on Grandma's new keychain.

Grandpa started playing this little game with Christopher on the couch--pulling him by his feet. Christopher loved it! Grandpa didn't realize it was going to mean playing it over and over and over and over.......
